The Steam Community Market is Valve's official first-party venue for trading CS2 items, and the canonical reference point for the wider ecosystem. It carries the highest liquidity on mainstream items because every Steam owner can buy and sell there directly inside the client.

The critical caveat is payouts: proceeds are locked to your Steam Wallet and cannot be cashed out to currency, so a Steam price is not directly comparable to a cash venue's ask. Valve's percentage fee on each sale splits between the Steam platform cut and the CS publisher cut, which inflates the effective price a buyer pays versus the seller's net.
