Acceptance
By creating an account, calling our API, embedding our SDK, or otherwise using the SkinPricer service ("Service"), you agree to be bound by this Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you are using the Service on behalf of a company, you represent you have authority to bind that company.
If you don’t agree, stop using the Service. There’s no hard feelings.
What we provide
SkinPricer aggregates publicly listed prices and order data from third-party in-game item marketplaces and presents pricing analytics, NBBO, arbitrage signals, and tooling to monitor and act on them.
We are not a marketplace. We do not custody items. We do not execute trades on your behalf. Linking an external account is optional and only triggers actions you explicitly authorize.
Your account
- ▸You're responsible for keeping your credentials and API keys secret.
- ▸Notify us immediately at security@skinpricer.com of any unauthorized access.
- ▸One person, one account — sharing logins is not allowed and may result in suspension.
- ▸Team workspaces are an upcoming feature for shared access; until then, use API keys with scopes.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- ▸Resell, sublicense, redistribute, or republish the data, API, or its outputs to any third party — whether free or paid — except as a permitted display to your own end users with attribution (see Attribution), and never in bulk or as a feed.
- ▸Use the data, API, or outputs — in whole or in part — to build, train, benchmark, or operate any product or service that competes with SkinPricer, including any rival pricing, aggregation, market-data, or analytics service.
- ▸Systematically extract, scrape, crawl, bulk-download, or cache the data to reconstruct, approximate, or keep a standing copy of the dataset beyond the limits in Data rights.
- ▸Exceed, evade, or circumvent your plan's published rate limits or quotas — including by rotating IPs or proxies, creating multiple accounts, or minting or sharing extra API keys.
- ▸Misrepresent SkinPricer as the source, or misstate the accuracy, freshness, or completeness of the data (see Attribution).
- ▸Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract our pricing models, indices, or training data.
- ▸Use the Service to facilitate fraud, money laundering, market manipulation, or violations of any third-party marketplace's terms.
- ▸Access the Service from a jurisdiction where doing so would violate local law.
Abuse has consequences that scale with severity: we may throttle traffic, suspend a key or account, or terminate access — in many cases without prior notice where needed to protect the Service or our partners.
Subscriptions & billing
Paid plans renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel any time from Account → Billing; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and we don’t issue prorated refunds for partial periods unless required by law.
We may change pricing with at least 30 days notice. The new price applies to your next renewal cycle.
If we can’t charge your card, we’ll retry over 14 days and email you. If we still can’t collect, your plan downgrades to the free tier and your premium features pause until you update payment.
API, rate limits, and SLAs
Each plan includes a published request rate limit and monthly quota, documented per plan in the API reference. Requests beyond your limit receive an HTTP 429 (Too Many Requests) response; sustained overage may be metered or billed where your plan allows it.
Deliberately exceeding or circumventing these limits — for example by scraping, rotating keys or IPs, or splitting load across multiple accounts — is abuse. We respond proportionally: first throttling, then suspending the offending key or account, and in serious or repeated cases terminating access.
Rate limits and quotas may be revised from time to time, with at least 30 days notice for breaking changes. We version our API (currently v1 stable, v2 beta).
Enterprise plans include a 99.9% uptime SLA with service credits for missed targets — see your order form for details. Free and Pro plans are provided "as-is" without an SLA, though we work hard to keep them running.
Data rights
You retain ownership of any portfolio entries, watchlists, or other data you upload. You grant us a limited license to host and process it solely to operate the Service for you.
Pricing outputs (NBBO, fair value, indices, model scores) are licensed to you for use within your own business or application. You may display individual data points to your own end users with attribution (see Attribution). You may not redistribute or resell the dataset, expose it through a competing or pass-through API, syndicate it as a feed, or use it to train, fine-tune, or benchmark a competing model or service (see Acceptable use).
Aggregated, anonymized data — where no individual user can be identified — belongs to us and may be used to improve the Service and publish reports.
Attribution & honest representation
Wherever these Terms permit you to display or republish a SkinPricer data point or output, you must credit SkinPricer as the source, clearly and legibly next to the data — for example Source: SkinPricer or a visible link to skinpricer.com. Where the medium allows, link the credit back to the relevant page.
You must not remove, obscure, crop out, or alter any source credit, logo, watermark, or notice we attach to the data, and you must not present the data in a way that implies it is your own.
You must not misrepresent the source or the data: don’t pass stale figures off as real-time, don’t present our estimates as official marketplace prices, don’t overstate accuracy, freshness, or completeness, and don’t imply that SkinPricer endorses, certifies, partners with, or supplies you without our prior written permission.
Attribution is a condition of permitted display only — it does not grant any right to redistribute, resell, or syndicate the dataset. See Data rights and Acceptable use for what you may and may not share.
Third-party services
The Service ingests data from third-party marketplaces (Steam Community Market, Buff163, Skinport, CSFloat, and others) under their respective terms. We do not control those marketplaces; outages, data lags, or policy changes there can affect what we can show you.
If you connect a Steam account, you authorize us to read your public inventory metadata. You can revoke this from Account → Connected accounts at any time.
Not financial advice
Nothing on SkinPricer constitutes investment, tax, or legal advice. Pricing models, fair value estimates, arbitrage signals, and ML scores are informational only and may be incorrect or stale.
You’re solely responsible for any trade you execute using the Service, including its tax treatment and compliance with the rules of any platform you trade on. Past performance of any signal does not guarantee future results.
Warranties & disclaimers
To the maximum extent allowed by law, the Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We don’t warrant that pricing data is complete, accurate, current, or uninterrupted, or that any errors will be corrected.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including lost profits, lost trading opportunities, loss of items, or loss of data — even if advised of the possibility.
Our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of the Service is capped at the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) USD $100.
Some jurisdictions don’t allow these limitations; in those places these terms apply only to the extent allowed.
Termination
You may close your account at any time from Account → Danger Zone. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, or if continuing to provide the Service exposes us to material legal or security risk.
Sections that should reasonably survive termination — Data Rights, Liability, Disputes, and these Termination provisions — survive.
Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of Amsterdam, Netherlands, except where local consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring action where you live.
Before filing anything formal, please email legal@skinpricer.com; most issues are settled in a single conversation.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes we’ll email you at least 30 days before the new version takes effect. The version pill at the top of this page always reflects the current document.
If you don’t agree with a new version, your remedy is to stop using the Service and request deletion of your account before the effective date.
